Better than expected – Firstly, we’ll start with the colors, since that’s likely what brought you to find HiLight in the first placeGenerally the following rules apply:Red – Long battery lifeGreen – Greatest visibilityBlue – Resistant to cold weather / will not freezeWithin the novelty side of things like Hilight’s offerings:Purple – As bright and visible as Streamlight TLR2 and TLR8 red lasersBlue – As bright and visible as Olight or Streammate Green lasers.A very clear blue beam in most conditions after dusk.Second: HousingIt’s an attractive Aluminum housing.No real complaints given what it is. I’d like to see a more robust mounting clamp in the future, but so far the two hex head screws seem to hold well enough against 9mm. The spacing for the two bracket holes are slightly off for M1913 spacing though. The only way I could use more than one was to file down my frame a bit.Flashlight: On par w/ Spartan subcompact laser/light combo; not bad, not impressiveBattery: built-in rechargeable, uses Micro USB to charge and DOES have an indicator light for charging -> chargedNote: Remove your screws carefully and liberally apply threadlock if intending to use this on a live firearm vs Airsoft.IWI Masada and a Sig P229 with observable sight shift during cleanup.~2″ at 10m of drift was found; this was after approximately 300rds+ through each at the time.I have not had the time to verify whether the threadlock solves the issue, but after several weeks of carrying, I have not noted any significant drift since applying it.I absolutely LOVE these lights as a novelty alternative for a functional flashlight and a different laser with a strong endorsement towards anyone that’s looking for something relatively cheaper than StreamLight for airsoft, performs well for its price class but does have room for improvement for live-fire/conceal carry use.
